About the Exhibition | Opening Soon | August 28, 2026
Isamu Noguchi: Metal the Mirror showcases nine of Noguchi’s galvanized steel sculptures created between 1982 and 1983. With reflective surfaces and evolving patinas, these works explore themes of duality inspired by Noguchi’s lived experience as a Japanese American. Dipped in boiling zinc, the sculptures develop textures reminiscent of river stones and layered skin, continuing to transform as the metal patinas over time.
