A travelling exhibition of painting and sculpture from 45 self-taught artists from the collection of South Florida–based photographer Gary Monroe. Monroe collected these surprising, gripping, and fantastical works by self-taught artist s to spur discussions on redefining whoʼs work is or is not inc luded in Art History. The exhibition includes a new publication with introduction by Munroe and two essays by Senior Curator Kathy Goncharov and Tampa Museum of Art Curator Joanna Robotham, and a specially-commissioned poem by Campbell McGrath about artists' urge to create.
