Paper Pollinator Flowers | November 9th, 2025

This month, with the help of Bloomberg Philanthropies Art Pollination Artist Ha’ani Hogan, we will be making Florida’s native flowers out of tissue paper! In our current exhibition, Art Pollination: Juan William Chávez, are artworks that emphasize the importance of planting native flowers in order to support the native bees and other pollinators in Florida. Without our pollinators, we wouldn’t have thriving food crops to feed our community! See the back of the flyer to discover more native Florida flowers and consider even planting one at home!

Materials Needed:
1. Colored Tissue Paper
2. Pipe Cleaners
3. Scissors

Project Steps:
1.Stack three sheets of tissue paper and fold them vertically like an accordin (backward and forwards)
2. Bind them in the middle by twisting and tying a pipe cleaner around the center
3. Cut the end of the tissue paper into a rounded shape, this is what your petals will look like.
4. Begin by opening each layer of the tissue paper, pulling each gently towards the center.
