Orlando, FL — January 17, 2018

The Mennello Museum of American Art announces the fourth annual Indie-Folkfest presented by PLR Florida.  This annual FREE event for people and their pets takes place February 10, 2018, from 12 to 5 p.m. at the Mennello Museum Sculpture Garden located at 900 East Princeton Street.

Shannon Fitzgerald, Mennello Museum Executive Director shares, “We are thrilled to present the fourth iteration of this highly anticipated indie art and community-driven event.  It is a good-hearted, lake front gathering surrounded by art where grass roots meets local artisans, local great Americana music, and our best food and drinks by some of Orlando’s happiest culinary destinations.  I am grateful for the support and work of the amazing Mennello Museum of American Art City-Appointed Board of Trustees – who work so diligently with our staff in making this event such a unique, family-friendly event – where embraces are welcomed!”

Live music from some of Central Florida’s most unique and notable musicians will soundtrack the afternoon with performances by Terri Binion, Eugene Snowden, Beemo, Hannah Harber, JUNOsmile, and Beth McKee.

There will also be an art project station and a communal fence painting zone for the young and the young at heart.

Gretchen Hahn, Mennello Museum Board of Trustees Chair states “Indie Folk Fest 2018 is the biggest and best yet. There is no other free event quite like it in Central Florida.  The addition of PLR Florida as our presenting sponsor will allow us to expand and enhance the event allowing us to elevate our fundraising efforts to a new level.  My goal is to double what we raised last year thus enabling the museum to reach more underserved families and children than ever before.”

This year’s featured artwork for the event was created by local artist and muralist Andrew Spear.  His work will be featured on the limited edition tee shirts and posters for sale the day of the event.

Indie-Folkfest 2018 is presented by PLR Florida. Sponsors include Laughlin-Beers Foundation, Orlando Weekly, Pardy & Rodriguez, P.A., MIDFlorida Credit Union, Alexandra Steele, and Traveler’s Insurance.

This free event serves as a gift from the Museum’s City-Appointed Board of Trustees in efforts to promote local art and community. A portion of all proceeds will benefit The Mennello Museum of American Art’s education and family-friendly programs. The Museum’s City-Appointed Board of Trustees members are Gretchen Hahn; Chair, Andre Young; Vice Chair, Will Benton, Teresa Campbell, Robert Campbell, Flynn Dobbs, Greg Mason, Alexandra Steele, and Luis Zapata, Jr.
