No Mistakes is a series of workshops where I share techniques and tools that can help you engage with art and explore your creative side. By taking time away from our daily routines, we can let go of expectations and enjoy a more spontaneous way of creating. Each session focuses on one artist from the Urge to Create exhibit currently on view at the Mennello Museum.

In this first workshop we will be working with acrylics to make a representation of a place that you have lived, visited or imagined – depictions do not need to be realistic but can be a rendition of a personal vision. This workshop is inspired by the art and practice of Frank Ritchie, an artist whose landscapes are products of his work with dots that may imitate leaves and/or falling snow. His technique focuses on the sheer joy of engaging and following his emotions and energy throughout the canvas. Provided with various materials, such as canvases, acrylic paint and paintbrushes, we will explore the range of textures and effects that can best render your place or desired landscape.
